Mind u I can't hear the transfer case to engage either ÷

April White: My 1993 Chevy 1500 4 wheel drive will not shift into 4 wheel drive it says its in 4 wheel drive but no 4 wheel drive why is that and what is wrong

Wave Crusher: +1A Auto Parts, I was following this video to help replace the actuator in my 2002 gmc 2500hd, when I took out he old actuator it came out very hard, and there was plastic strips coming off the threads. I tried to screw the new actuator in but it would not go in, it was kinda catch but then pop back off the threads. It started to go in once but was very hard, I pulled it out and the first line of threads was stipped completly off...what would cause that? was is the wrong actuator? It looked exactly like the one that was on there. I believe then one I had as the good one was from an older truck like a 98 chevy 1500 with push button 4x4

ArmaAceChannel: anyone recommend dropping the whole front axle for replacing the oil pan gasket?

Shon Ingram: I have a 2004 Chevy Colorado. I switched it from 4hi to 2hi at the correct speed on a gravel road. There was a "clunk" and the lights on the push button display flashed and went off. On the dash display I got a "Service 4wd" message. Now the lights only come on when the truck is started. Could this be the actuator? I have tried everything. Thanks for your help!

Rocky Sisneros: I have a 03 Silverado 2500hd gas it is a manuel 4 wheel drive without locking hubs. The 4 wheel drive indicator light comes off and on what could be the problem

@2allendorf82 It may be due to a bad axle shift actuator you may want to take a look at it to see if has gone bad. Here's a link to them on our site if you need one. Hope this helps you out. http://www.1aauto.com/1999-chevy-k1500-truck-4wd-parts/y-mo-c/1999-1518-30?utm_source=VideoReply&utm_medium=Forum&utm_campaign=1ATony

allendorf82: In my 1999 silverado 1500 it's stuck in 4 hi cant get it to go to 2wd dash switch is brand new an works in my other 1999 I hear a buzzing like it wants to go into 2wd twice then flashed sum times shuts off or goes back into 4 hi any help ?

rob21flores: 04 tahoe z-71 stays in 4 or sometimes only in 2. I unplugged the actuator and every once and a while when I turn the truck on it will be in 4 wheel dr. Please help

John Quillian: hi I have a 2000 chevy Silverado 1500 the it runs and drives great 2 wd works good and 4 hi works good but when I go to put it in 4 low the light just flashes and for a while and stays in 4 hi. could it be the 4wd switch panel or the actuator? realy would like this fixed soon thanks.

Mac Dungle: man i have to drop this front axle or lower it securely just to change my oil pan gasket. and what is with gm trucks always leakign oil?

Seth Wiley: I have a 2002 chevy silverado 1500. I can hear my transfer case switch to 4wd and the front axle locks. I checked the actuator and it extends when in 4wd but my hubs don't lock in. Could my actuator not be extending all the way or what could the problem be?

Pierre Perea: 93 Chevy Silverado, 1500 - works only in 4w lo - if taken out of 4 w lo it takes about 4 or 5 tries for it to re-engage in 4 w lo.  2 hi or 4 hi will not engage.

will Janis: i have a 95 gmc, that won't engage the 4 wheel drive, shifter works but lights won't come either

Travis Henning: I have a 99 Silverado with push button 4x4, it doesn't like to go into 4hi. I just replaced the transfer case motor which was bad. I checked fuses, and tried replacing the dash switch. Could it be the actuator thats bad, not letting it go into 4 hi? when I press 4 hi the button blinks a few times and you can hear the motor trying to shift but most of the time goes back to what it was in before.

Rodney Allred: i have a 1996 GMC 4x4 truck is stuck 2 wheel drive. my lights on the push button blink but the front wheels wont engage. could it be the actuator? thanks for youre help

troy kubitz: i have a 2005 5.3 silverado w/push button 4wd. it is stuck in 2wd. When 4hi or 4lo buttons are pushed no lights blink, no mechanical sound of trying to engage. is it the Actuator switch? How do i test the existing actuator switch? Or could it be the button panel switch? What is more likely?
