Did this video help you?

Kelly Ricketts: Thanks Kindly, Helped out !

Donald Steiner: Good vid but you should mention eye protection. Every time I work under a car I get rust, dirt, fluid, etc etc in my eye and swear Ill never do it again lol

wmkess: What if the transfer case will go into 4wd high no problem but fail to engage 4wd low? My 2005 Silverado 1500 does this now. I can hear a loud clunk, like it typically made in the past when it engages into low, but it doesn't engage and then it clunks again like it is giving it a second shot. It has been doing this even after multiple restarts and trying it at a stand still and a slow roll (1-3 mph like the manual states) and always in neutral.

big choo choo: is this the same for a 99 suburban?

Jerry Lauber: Ever seen a 2002 2500HD Silverado have problems with the transfer case shifting into neutral by itself while driving down the road?

Jerry Bowen: 00 Z71 with auto 4x4.Lights say it is in 4x4 .I jacked all tires off ground 4x4 works but I can grab tire and front no longer spin .back still turns. Why would it not have the power to turn front wheels?love your videos

Lyman Tsinnie: My 2009 Silverado just went out recently. Manual shift to 4H, 4L, but nothing happens. The 4-wheel light doesn't come on either. I just used 4H 2 weeks ago. When shifting to 4H, I don't hear any noises..I'm leading toward the actuator but know nothing about vehicle maintenance. Any help in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Scott Hoyt: Thanks for video. Need to order replacement. 2 questions: when bolting new motor in place, do the gears or motor need to be 'indexed' to match position of motor with position of transfer case? also, which part number for '05 tahoe with the 'auto' sensing 4wd? Thx again.

Ernesto Oliveira: great video thanks for sharing it with others

lonnie ruybal: So I'm having same problem with my 04 Silverado except mine goes into 4 lo and not 4 hi ,it blinks like this video and goes back to 2wd . I do have new transfer case motor here to be installed . Will this fix problem ?

Rodolfo Valdovinos: I have a 2001 silverado and my 4wd only engages into the low 4wd, it goes into high and auto but it doesn't work on does modes it only works on the low mode. Do you think is the transfer case shift motor? @1Aautoparts

MegaFlaxman: Hi there you showed how to test the motor while its attached to the truck, I have a 2001 olds bravada that doesn't have any 4wd switches, it is stuck in 4wd and I'm thinking it's the encoder motor. There isn't any way to test this one is there? I've been told there isn't any way to test it when it's not attached to the transfer case either or it will cause permanent damage to the motor.Fluid is perfect no blown fuses and no lights illuminated on the dash.

Vanison Zore: Is there any fluid that has to be drained first before I do this on a 98 Silverado z71

streetplatoon562: Hello there went ahead and bought the part but I cannot get the teeth to line up... Any tips on how to go about that ?

supperterofsanity: Great job! I like the fast forwarding through monotonous parts, we can still see what you do but it shortens the video which is better than cutting away and skipping the section.

2009G8Gxp: "I never tighten up anything with an impact wrench." This is the only person I would every pay to work on my vehicles. :D

Jose Hernandez: Great video!!!

mattd19902010: I just replaced the 4x4 actuator on mine and the front wheels still won't spin and it won't go into 4x4 low or netural

Jon Stroud: Great video, thanks, helped me out a lot. When I pulled the shift motor out and opened it up to replace the sensor it was full of oil. Is that supposed to be there. Thanks again

Lee Bailey: Great Videos. I have a problem similar to this. 05 Sierra 215k miles. My buttons have been working off and on for a few months. Today, when working and going at highway speed the transfew case shifted into neutral on its on and I lost all power to wheels. Pressed Auto 4WD, power returned and got home. Tried again later and same thing happened. Transfer case shift motor? 4WD Axle Actuator? Software issues? Thanks for your time
