John Arkady: I had one of these running two Rockford Twelves back in the late eighties, firing down into mirrored concave plexiglass,,,,God, how they would hit! Twelves were for their size the hardest hitting of all the Rockford line,,,at least back then!
darknature79: i know you know a little more thsn most about the punch amps but in the 150 they have 4 fuses are they all supposed to be same rating? i opened mine up because 1 ch wasnt working and there are 3 bigger like 25 amp fuses and 1 6 amp. is that normal and supposed to be like that?
susan heath: bought one at the flea market this past weekend for 10 dollars and it works. of course I live near this BIG flea market and find the mega deals all the time. every weekend .oh I find old school amps from the 80's and early 90's all the time out there. AND make BIG money resale on EBAY!! just bought a 400a2 for 20 dollars and sold it 250. I LOVE IT!
marcellino smith: I JUST GOT HOLD OF ONE OF THESE O/G PUNCH 45s,AN JUST FOR THE HELL OF IT I PULLED OUT MY KENWOOD 921 FAN COOLED 2-CHANNEL AMP THAT I HAD PUSHING 2 DVC 10in.SUBS A KICKER CVR,AN A ALPHASONIK PSW810E,AND THE PUNCH 45 HITS HARDER,AN CLEANER THAN THE BIG KENWOOD!!!
Ryan Malin: Growing up, my Mom had a Punch 45 in her 1985 Mustang GT. Even with loud exhaust and t-top windows removed, you could still hear the radio clear as hell. That might have been the intro to my hearing damage. :(
BigDWiz: The 1st gen Punch 45 is slightly less powerful. Around 40W per channel at 4 ohms, 60W per channel at 2 ohms or 120W bridged at 4 ohms. The 90's Punch 45 and 45HD do around 150W bridged at 4 ohms
BigDWiz: ebay or come join my group on facebook-com/groups/oldschoolstereo
CJ Dowling: Can you recommend a good place to sell an old Punch 45? I have a Punch 45 and a 4600x that I am looking to sell.
BigDWiz: @sleepr2ride The one I have is not an original and looks like it was made in MS Word. I have an original HD series manual, but no original 1st or 2nd gen. Scan, copy, PDF or original would be GREAT!
Sleeper SS: did you ever get that PDF manual for your Gen1 punch 45?? i just recieved my punch 30 in the mail and it came with a copy of the manual too ( for the punch 30 ) and an original manual for the gen2 45,75,150 .. if your still looking for that manual, let me know, i might know some ppls in Ohio ...
Kevin Nieto: What makes me mad is that I know a someone who has this amp I thinks it's either a 75 not sure but he keeps on insisting it will power a set of kicker solo L7s like nothing I told him no it won't (it will but not for very long!) point is I just hate to see them being abused. Oh well they were built pretty solid it's his amp anyway.
carey tisdale: I witness this amp in progress on two 12's. And got damn, that litte power house rock. Man i couldnt believe it all that bass it put out. And the amp wasn't up half way. those was the days.
BigDWiz: @ajaake I agree, it is my favorite old school Punch amp. I've done some testing with my Infinity Perfect 12VQ sub and I absolutely could not believe the power this amp puts out. I'll put up a demo video soon so others can be believers....
Jacob Rogers: I have one of these, and let me you, the damn thing is indestructible. It will absolutely make a 12inch sub pound with plenty left over. Raw Power, they don't build them like this anymore.
