Stan M: Two stroke rule THERE just now OPTI Max's Merc tower of power lives on.
Twice the mileage too
David St. Pierre: The guy who is doing our landscaping has 2 of these on his speed boat!
jason35177: Thanks for all the comments all!!! It's been threes years since this video was uploaded and I still have her.. but this time i have an excillery motor hahaha
ward6226: You can thank the environmental whacko for giving us 500 pound 150 hp that require oil changes and valve adjustments. Gone are the days where the in-line mercs and the v-4 Omcs dominated the waterways and were there to tow the Chryslers in. Ofreko's 747 and Algore's G-3 pollute more on one USA apology tour than all these old motors could polute in a year.
Chris Johns: @jason35177 probably because theyre only a 1.6 litre motor (100 cubic inch) whilst current ones are much bigger
6speeddakota .: @johns78c They aren't banned, they just aren't allowed to be produced anymore due to the horrible emissions they put out
fgasser1: I remember these engines as a kid. The exhaust coming out of these engines were strong because it shot it out the prop. When we were water skiing we called them "TALL STINKEN NIGGERS"!
x3mgabriel: Son un fierro .Aguante el mercury no máás.
Johans60: Very nice engine, I used to have a 1150
Chris Johns: @ TheVx490 huh?? two strokes are banned where you are??
ml bakewell: what a shame 2 strokes are now banned.love the smell too
David St. Pierre: @merctech417 The only problem is is that the verado's are too quiet. They should make optimax's inline six.
jason35177: All I can do now is just watch my video now! I have this motor pulled down. Painting it and putting new decals on it.
Getting rid of the old cable pulley steering and fitting teleflex type. Tired of pumping the fuel bulb so fitting facet electric pump.
The timing belt snapped on my last outing! It's second time water police have had to tow me :( time before that was the gearbox failure due to oil going bad. My fuilt!
jason35177: Apparently they have have less torque than other current 150hp motors..
jonatle: are these as powerful as todays 150 hp ?
jonatle: childhood memories, I loved them then and love them still :)
Joey Dorsey: @itstomd wow! a human tach... lol
Tom Dee: aound 0:43 i think you went over 5500 rpm, they suck in reeds too high up
