Did this video help you?

Martin Wigström: try to stream live tv from cabel tv to rasberry...

what do i need to get started?

marz3335: I just want to watch HD OTA TV and not cable. (with a PI). Is a homerun the easiest way to go? What about USB tuner sticks? Is there a good one to use or are they a pain?

Ian Dixon: Have you purchased the mpeg2 licence? You need than before it will work

matt davis: this was way better than manually creating the STRM files manually, but both ways I did it I am only getting audio, no video. Any ideas? I'm using XBIAN.

Joshua Seltzer: This is very cool. Upsetting it won't work on the cablecard channels. Is there anyway to record shows from the raspberry pi?

UcantBeSerious03: I figured it out, with the HDhomerun prime you can't generate strm files for cablecard. If I select digital cable I can get it to generate strm files. Under those settings, all I get is basic cable (local channels) Great video, it opened my eyes to what the Pi can do.

UcantBeSerious03: Oh I see you have the 2 tuner unit with no cable card. I don't think the primes (cable card units) can generate strm files. Btw I was able to find the digital lifestyle page for more detailed info after seeing this video. Might help to drive more people to the site with a link in the description box. How does the Pi handle HD video?

UcantBeSerious03: which version firmware are you running on the HDhomerun? I tried to do what you showed in the video but I can't seem to find the strm files after the scan
