Jeremy Phan: 1. Root.

bimangu basakia: how to change of theme on xperia x10? , ( comment changer de theme sur xperia x10?
XxkassisxX: thanks(the date is apr 17,2011)
Jeremy Phan: ... I honestly don't remember.
I'm already 3 phones beyond the X10. :p
Whatever it is should have been mentioned and linked in the description.
XxkassisxX: what's your theme ?
Jeremy Phan: It's already a ZIP. Copy to your phone, install using xRecovery. Advanced / Reset permissions. I don't know how much simpler they could possibly make it.
spyhellmonkey: could you make a tutorial of how to get the xperia s laucher
callan heath: BluechipJ haha. Much respect on telling these "professionals". Had quite a laugh. Thanks for the upload. Did me good. Keep it up. Thumbs up.
Shuvo Sa: thanks man i will give it a try
Jeremy Phan: Should be similar.
Shuvo Sa: can i use this method for xperia x8
Crush My Rush: my THEME TAKES ABOUT 4-6 MINUTES TO BOOT UP MY PHONE.. LOL!
Jeremy Phan: WATCH THE VIDEO AGAIN AND PAY ATTENTION: 0:50.
Crush My Rush: CAN YOU TELL ME HOW TO GO INTO XRECOVERY AFTER RESTART THE PHONE?
Jeremy Phan: I used another launcher and wallpapers. I didn't bother with themes. Now using TripNRaver's 2.2 Froyo ROM and the arc so haven't played with themes in a while.
Rjzkillz: whats your fav theme on the x10..?
Rjzkillz: Thanks ....worked..
Lion3494: @Dz. Man you need to read the instructions in the link he provided
DzTutorialsZ: then teach me -.-
Jeremy Phan: If you don't know how to do something basic like backing up data/SMS/etc., you shouldn't be messing with custom ROMs.
Titanium Backup, Astro File Manager, SMS Backup & Restore, etc.
DzTutorialsZ: hey umm, what can i do so i can keep my things while changing custom roms? so i dont lose my contacts, apps, etc..?
Jeremy Phan: You wiped userdata. Unchecking that box would have maintained data. Flashing takes you back to scratch. Root, customize again.
DzTutorialsZ: thanks it worked! :) but i still want to have custom roms etc.. everything is deleted off my phone now though :'( +root is gone..
Jeremy Phan: 1. You should have backed up, as per the instructions. Restore using xRecovery.
2. Restore or flash again. Uncheck "Wipe userdata" to maintain data.
DzTutorialsZ: hey what can i do? my sony ericsson comes up to the logo "Sony Ericsson" then it freezes there.. and it stays there.. doesnt continue.. what can i do? please help :(
Jeremy Phan: @TechnoLev Fine. Next time I'll "walk away" and not bother helping people. Oh wait, I don't do that. That's why there are thousands of comments on my videos.
I don't want viewers being misinformed and/or blaming me.
e.g. Someone saying their phone is bricked when in fact it CAN'T be bricked and scaring off other people from modifying their phones.
I still can't believe you'd try something this advanced without first knowing how to restore your phone.
Jeremy Phan: @TechnoLev And yet you think you can brick/ruin/break the X10.
You CAN'T break it. Your comments imply that you've never even flashed your phone or else you'd KNOW this.
Flashing is the most basic, BASIC process. Even Sony Ericsson has a video about it: /watch?v=pAM439T4X5o
Oh wow... an IT course...
If you've never flashed your phone but went straight to xRecovery, that's like someone messing around w/ the engine on a car yet not knowing how to fill the gas. Backwards and BASIC.
Jeremy Phan: @TechnoLev
1. I've messed w/ my X10 to the point where it doesn't even show the logo. However, it can ALWAYS connect in FLASH MODE. Flash mode loads BEFORE any firmware.
1a. Other times, the firmware won't boot, but if the logo shows up, it means you can STILL get into xRecovery BEFORE the logo shows up.
3. I don't even know what "topping it in certificates" even means.
PC Companion can ALWAYS repair the phone. Turn it off, start PC Companion, connect in FLASH MODE (off, back button).
Jeremy Phan: @TechnoLev ... then turn it off, connect in flash mode and FLASH it back to stock using the graphical flash tool (uncheck "wipe userdata" to save data): /watch?v=NIC9uN_0syg&hd=1
You went far enough as to install xRecovery (advanced) but don't know how to flash/repair (basic)?
Walk befeore you run.
Jeremy Phan: @TechnoLev What firmware are you running and which theme are you trying to install? This shouldn't be that difficult. It's simply flashing a zip file in xRecovery.
Jeremy Phan: @TechnoLev
1. You can't "ruin" the X10. There are no less than 3 methods to restore to stock/OEM/carrier firmware: PC Companion, Update Service, Graphical Flash Tool, xRecovery Restore.
2. Obviously, you didn't pay attention to the GIANT red letters telling you to backup: Option #6 in xRecovery.
3. People have been flashing ROMs and themes for over 7 months without issue.
So if you're too lazy, oblivious or incompetent to follow instructions, stop messing raound with your phone.
Jeremy Phan: @TechnoLev Load? Flashing the zip should take seconds. Rebooting depends on the firmware.
Jeremy Phan: 1. Themes don't affect applications. 2. Why is your SD unmounted? Restore from a backup.
Astromee12: i can't install apps when i have my custom ROMs installed. when i click on any app it sill show in the install line and gets stuck in there. also in my sd card settings it say unmount sd for safe removal. i click on it nothing happens. :( any suggestions???
bchampion96: @179716 i nandroided first just in case so i ripped out the battery, rebooted and then restores the original nandroid! u did back up first didnt you?
179716: i had the same problem, how do u manage to restore your fone@bchampion96
iiblackops238: if We didnt do a back up before this how do we remove them or change them because i now have a themes boot logo and i dont like it
bchampion96: done everything youve said and when i try to reboot the phone after installing the zip i just get 'sony ericsson' and i waited for up to 10 minutes. after a while i gave up and restored to what i had before
NANDROID saves lives
