Digital Simplicity: May I ask what your vehicle was doing before you had to change this?

C BG: I didn’t like this video because it doesn’t show all the steps. Yes of course taking one screw out is a matter of few minutes but you gonna spend 45 min at least to get to it.
I have a GMC envoy 2006. If you have the same car, you may need to know that it is a hell difficult to access that F.. Screw from the top or from the bottom. I have to take out the driver side tire to get to it. then you will need an extension to your socket 10 mm to do the job. after taking the screw I had to spend 10 min moving that sensor left and right in circle to finally been able to retrieve it. the electric cable was also of a challenge as you have a really small space to work on unplug it. When you put the new one back, make a sure you plug the cable the right way.. pay attention to that grip inside the plug as this one will give you the right way to plug back the new sensor. The car didn’t start right away so I left thinking I did something wrong to go answer a phone call, then I started the car again and it did it stop as it used to.. Make a sure also the engine is cool before to start on this job.

For info: I changed the crank sensor after almost a month of my car shutting down in the middle of the road when I was slowing down and one time on the highway at 70 MPH then my car spent 10 days at a shop where I was told it is 70% the ECM or BCM which are the computers, that cost over $700 each, before tax, labor and programming. So an internet research mentionned the Crank sensor and it was it. The part was $28.. after tax. Good luck!

Matt M.: I had to access it from underneath to unbolt and take electric plug off. I had to access from top to try and pull sensor out. The damn sensor did NOT want to come out. And nothing fits in there to pry it out. I literally had to use my nails on my thumb to pry it out and the also a flat head and it finally popped out slowly. But it was a bitch. I replaced 3 sensors (camshaft sensor, crank shaft sensor and VVT solenoid). My vehicle runs smoother than ever. But thank u for the video, it helped somewhat but its harder than u make it sound.

clmco: Why did you replace both cam and crank sensor's? Was your Envoy
throwing codes or stalling?
