sami khan: is it ok for the transmision to be not using clutch?
the eaton fuller guys versus the real world drivers about the clutch use is
Kat Loaf: Nicely done, sounds like your engine talks to you in a nice voice.
Alan Hunt: Not a truck driver, but as a driver of a manual car, to take it out of gear
without the clutch you need there to be no load on the transmission. So,
you take it out of gear the second you let off the power, because in that
split second the engine is putting no load on the transmission through
either power or engine braking.
Cdek654: Tu devrais m'apprendre à shifter sans clutch :P Pour l'instant je fais
juste les demi sans, les autres avec double clutch :/ Un truc pour moi ?
(J'ai jamais vraiment essayer en faite)
alanna nicole: no preselect... bad
Ronald Jr Perrigo: very nice informative segment, thanks!
Steff junior: thank you !!! have a nice day
GRunner70: @waymobil69 if you don't drive an automatic it's pretty much the same.
mostly you have low range, high range and the option to split every gear.
but it differs from brand to brand.
cheeseball247: really nice dude!
Marcelle: I love this transmisson. I'am from Germany and we have an 1992 build MAN
19.372 with this gearbox. That is real driving... F*+ off automatic or what
Ronald Jr Perrigo: have you ever ran a 5x4,? last one I drove was a 1970 Freightliner.
Steff junior: here we have a split to up & down de gears so I dont need clutch is
different to your truck in europe you dont have a split ??? thank you for
Steff junior: loll yes is a freight liner shaker cascadia ;(
fernando47okc: Hear the engine ? Over some time, that sound will become like your
heartbeat, and shifting without the clutch will be like breathing :). EASY.
Also in time, you will know what gear that you need to drop down do by your
ktumbleweed: Good shifting, just one thing though. You are not supposed to preselect the
splitter, unlike the range box which you are supposed to preselect. As soon
as you move the switch for the splitter it starts putting pressure on the
shift fork trying to make the shift, so over time you will do damage to the
splitter. As soon as you move switch let off the throttle to complete the
Steff junior: have a nice day to ;)d
Racefan488: @tnphysics Its really pretty smooth. You just have to listen to your
engine. My dad never used a clutch except for starting and stopping,
Kevin Session: Now thats a Truck Driver Like butter!
Frank andollini: Timing..................have a nice day.
juan castaneda: Hey man I have a 2010 cascadia with detriot dd15 in what rpms do you float
the gears and downshift
cuzinitr: That's the smoothest work of shifting a 13 spd, that I'v seen on utube.
That's how I was shown how to shift one back in 1970, in a GMC Astrocab,
with a 318 jimmy v8. I was tought that the cluth was only to be used when
you were stopped, and that a good driver timed it so that you never had to
come to a compleat stop.Nice video, liked and subscribed.
TheDarkcoven1: Dude you did that like a Boss LMAO, great work.
Steff junior: hello!! yes you are absolutely right c was as a example I wish you a
tnphysics: How hard is it to pull the stick out of gear without the clutch? I know
that you must be very careful pushing it INTO gear without the clutch, but
I am not so sure about leaving gear.
fnvaladez: Shes got no panties on....
Teejoker1: Only true drivers drive without clutches huh? I can tell that is a fan boy
comment a mile away. I know pleanty of talented wheel men that have always
used their clutch. And they never have to change their brass rings..
Steff junior: thank you ;)d
CreRay: @WNxRadeon Just pre-select the split, it engages when you ease off the gas.
He starts off in 1st, then uses all of the gears when shifting up. So it's
1-2-3-4-5L-5H-6L-6H-7L-7H-8L-8H. A 13 speed has only splits in high range,
you can see it at 0:07. In american trucks, the gearbox has no synchromesh,
so you have to rev-match each gear when engaging. This makes skipping gears
a lot harder, especially for inexperienced drivers.
ruger1022dude: only a true trucker drives clutchless! Good work!
Neodar: how do you split gears without using the clutch? here in europe you'll have
to press the clutch before it splits the gear. I also so see a diffrent
shift pattern in american videos, could you tell me your shift pattern?
Here in europe it's: 3 > 5 > 6 > 7 > 7½ > 8 > 8½. it's a lot quicker since
you don't have to go through all of the lower gears.
Steven Seydler: Most big truck transmissions dont have synchros
fnvaladez: Yea its a freight shaker all right ........
Steff junior: thank you very much
Kevin Session: Now thats a Truck Driver
Steff junior: thank you ;)
Steff junior: wow thank you very much very happy nice comment ;)
sean sutherland: Man, I miss 13. I hate 10s. Nothing to due, and as far as I'm concerned,
it's more work when pulling heavy loads up hills
Taylor Waid: Jeez you must be loaded down pretty heavy. it takes ya a while to shift
aliankolea: Love that rubber gear shifting. Good job. I can't even try to use the
clutch to shift anymore. Only to start off. Thanks for a great video.
