Would this be the problem or am I grabbing at straws? Cheers.
Nathan Kidd: I am going to try to replace the charging port on my S4, but i was
wondering - could you tell me the exact tools (screwdriver sizes, etc) that
I would need for that? i dont necessarily want/need to get a whole tool
kit, since i dont plan on doing this very often (hoping this is a 1 time
thing), but i wasnt sure which individual tools i would need to use. or,
if you are familiar with a smaller/cheaper kit that has what i need that
would be cool too. thanks for your help and great video.
Tony C: Great video. Helped me fix my wife's phone!
Only issue is now my wife's microphone does not seem to work. I can not
hear her when she calls. I checked all the ribbon cables and connections.
Any idea which ribbon cable is for the microphone ?
Cori Fostveit Cox: Thank you! Thank you!! It could have went a little slower at the actual
install of the charging port, I had to stop & rewind several times. But
thank you! The phone is charging so that is progress :)
dwellmaster9: What if u cant tap one side of the screen (ps) i have android.

alan tran: Is it easy taking the LCD out?
Kuljit Singh: hey where are you located?
Devon Purves: Great video. I have replaced the charging port in my phone and now I have
trouble with my signal and data connection. Is there a certain part of the

ddip214: What needs to be removed if you're doing a glass replacement using the UV
glue? Can the charging port stay in it?
G Man: Hi i have replaced my usb flex but now i have no signal. I put original
faulty port back in and the signal comes back. I have tried 3 different usb

Rodney B.: Hello, and thanks for the video! I have a question... so I changed the
charging port ribbon which was a success, the phone charges again. However,
when I make a call the person can not hear me unless I use the speaker
phone. I checked everything three times, and it looks correct. Is there
anything I should check or is the ribbon I purchased defective?
Thanks in advance!
Mustafa Jafar: hi can you help me
the left and right key (back and options) didn't work) is that problem in
hardware or software ?? what can i do ?

mant mogyl: hi is this charger port for i9500 is same as i9300? thank you!!
Craig Rose: Thanks for the video, it worked like a charm and the links you provided for
the toolkit and part were awesome!
AlcoholRabbit: As helpfull as this video is, from the day I opened up my S4 to fix the
charger port, I ran into a MYRIAD of other problems that had me stressed
out for a bit but I eventually overcame. I'll list a few of 'em.
Speaker not working after you open up the phone? - Press hard on the back
panel. This is the same back panel that you prolly popped loose as shown in
the video not being in as snug as it was before you opened the phone. This
one scared me for a bit.
Swapped in new charger port and it tells you LOW TEMP or won't charge? -
The Charger port you just installed is FAULTY. I ordered a new one when my
first one died, put it in and nothing. The computer reconized the device,
but the charger port was a dud because it constantly put the phone in Low
temp mode and wouldn't charge. Be wary of one start rated S4 products (My
replacement antenna was also a dud too)
LED/Speakr not working? - Be sure to check that the Ribbon cable is not
stuck under the motherboard when you put it back in. This one had me
stumped and depressed for a few days because I thought I had damaged my
phone through constant reopening, especially when pulling the chasis away
from the phone and what's not.
Hope this helps someone and once again much thanks to the uploader for
making this vid and helping me to fix my phone without spending money on a
tech guy to do it. Cheers.
duhastchris: yea im defiantly not doing this my self
Inderjeet Singh Sandhawalia: Hi JerryRigEverything,
I want to give a try to replace Samsung Note 2 as I have bad charging port.
What kind of tools you have, are these part of the Repair Tool Kit
Screwdrivers Kit for Iphones and Samsung as being sold on ebay?
Eric Lee: Thanks! This was so helpful. I was having trouble getting through my phone
company's customer service and insurance program. It was going to cost me
$90 to replace my phone, and I got everything I needed for about $20,
including the charging port and the tools necessary. I'm terrified of
electronics, but feel better and better thanks to folks like you!
Vasiliy Prokhor: hey, great vid! im starting to work on s4's to make a xtra penny. and i was
wondering, so do all different carriers have a different charging port?
because i see different links in your description!
Devin Fleming: for the charging port there are those little antenna wires and there
attached to the charging port and the charging port posted in the
description dosnt have that so im confused
Lexi Matier: PLEASE HELP! I bought the charging port replacement for the i9500 but it
only has a little snap on for one of the antenna wires on the left). Not
the right side. Also, the snap on the black arm that reaches up the length
of the phone is too far down on the arm. The upper black arm (the shorter
one) is rather long on my phone. I don't know what to do at this point, any
help is appreciated thank you!
Adam Raposo: Thanks, great walkthough! Just a heads up for **CANADIAN* S4 Owners.
The phone differs from this one in that there is no second red wire on the
left, only the blue one on the right.
Also, the second strip that he detaches on top of the one on the left
detaches from about an inch and a half from the bottom instead of almost at
the top as seen in this video.
It is also worth noting that while the i9500 USB Charging Port part will
work with the canadian version, it differs from the original in that there
is a small piece coming out of the back of the strip on the left - that
prevents the back casing from closing properly.
Ricardo Paul: Hi there i replaced the port, but I realised that touch buttons are off, I
replaced twice but the part is from the same provider. I thought it was the
touch screen buttons, but I tested with the old one and the touch buttons
are working. What could it be?
Randall B: Where can I purchase the brown cable on the left that connects to the USB
port. I can find the wifi. Cable for sale everywhere. I imagine these are
D Mac: Hey does the S2 have the same setup? It won't charge at all
Mickey Glover: Where can I get a Camera module, I looked on Amazon, but the reviews are
saying they aren't genuine or new. I'm getting the notorious camera failed.
kyle0person0moo: I put everything together and it turns on fine it but the screen still
won't light up.
Xdrows: Hey, just a quick question. I replaced my charging port for my S4 i545 and
now my microphone is really quiet. To the point where whoever I'm calling
cannot hear me or I'm really quiet. Do you have any advice for my
John Demetralis: thank you,,, you da man!!!!
Reylyna Peneueta: What tools did you use in this video ? Where can I get them ?
Kaitlyn Kerr: Thank you for the video!! saved me 60$ the store wanted to replace my
charging port. not inclding thee ridiculous $30 for the part! I'm so happy
Jason Bryant: Thanks for this video. I could've use insurance to replace the phone ($199)
or get a local repair shop to do it ($80). Instead, I was able to order the
part on Amazon with 1-day shipping for less than $20 and did the repair in
10 minutes. Very easy, and I now know how to replace several components of
the phone if they ever go out.
Phil Kight: Just finished with one charging port replacement. Great video, it was no
problem with the replacement. Thank you, it helps to have a phone that I
can plug in again. Even though I've now got a Qi back for it, and a
wireless charging pad. When on the road it's a lot easier to plug the phone
in to a charger.
Jared: You're a master. Thank You. Definitely Subscribed!
