MrsW: Great idea...I noticed that with a genuine Vue cup the filter is NOT PIERCED...there is a depression in the center of the filter under the foil top and the water flows thru the filter. People have had problems with coffee grounds getting sucked into the brewer nozzle when using NON-commercial Vue cup methods. I like the idea of using my own coffee and re-using the cups. Maybe adding a depression in the center of filter after it is fitted in the Vue cup or using the taller travel mug Vue cup would be a good idea. Also, I discovered that I can use the new Carafe (4) cup for the Keurig 2.0 -in my Keurig Vue....just run 16 oz thru twice into a Bubba mug or a 7 inch high carafe. The Vue carafe cup is even taller than a travel mug sized Vue cup but it fits fine. You could even make your own filter for it. Love my Vue. Thanks for the video.
momofbabyk: Omg! Wonderful idea! I actually used a store brand organic pod that I had laying around w no plastic and covered it w foil and it worked perfectly! I tried it w/o foil first and the little pod got dumped over and fell down in my Vue. This is great! Recycling these Vue pods from now on! Wish I had saved more!
Arthur Kirk: My mom just got the V700 for Mother's day but this will come in handy once the coffee eventually runs out. Guess this means I don't have to her the Solofill ;)
cibolodave: genius!! i will totally have to give this a try
mosin9105: Fantastic! Thanks for sharing!
Amie Martin: I'm going to try your technique using a tea bag for iced tea! Any suggestions? Thanks.
jc Momma: Awesome! Our VUE is on the UPS truck right now! Ours will come with 4 boxes of VUE cups but I will save several to recycle! I am so trying it! I much appreciate you posting this!
Barry Engolio: anyone try Empty TeaBags 5X6 cm Self Heat Seal
happybunnypwnz: I tried this this morning, following your instructions, and got a mountain of sludge. :*(
The hole at the top of the filter was HUGE compared to what's in yours, and after 4 attempts, I gave up.
aviyashar: great idea, but scrap the staple! that's gross and unhealthy. If you just folder the filter over a few time and push it to the bottom, the foil should keep it down in place and there's no need for the staple!
Jesse Pollock: Great thinking
Patti Maska: You rock! This is better than a permanent filter! No clean up at all!
dnewel99: @saint kaile: a regular round coffee filter. The one I used is an 8-12 cup basket filter
Susan Kelly: what kind of filter?
DontShootTheMessenger: HA HA ... VUE CUPS ARE THE ONE THING I ACTUALLY RECYCLE NOW .. SO I AM OFFICIALLY GREEN !!!!! LMAO !!
DontShootTheMessenger: Cover the spout with foil ... it's ok ... and no grinds !!
DontShootTheMessenger: THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH !! (CAPS USED ON PURPOSE~I AM SHOUTING) THIS IS SOOOOOO GREAT ... I EVEN MADE ICE COFFEE 16OZ !!! AND I USED HEAVY DUTY FOIL (PRODUCED A BETTER PUNCTURE) AND I ALSO DID COVER THE SPOUT WITH FOIL AND SEAL OVER THE WHOLE CUP ... THE MACHINE ALSO PUNCTURES A HOLE ON THE SPOUT.
I USED THREE SCOOPS MADE A BIG DIFFERENCE !! IT IS STILL WAY CHEAPER NO MATTER WHAT !!
THANK YOU DNEWEL99 ~ IT'S GENIUS !!!!!!!
MariaFelecity: This is awesome... I have the Vue 700, and there are not many flavors to choose from that I like.. and the refillable filter cup I bought leaves sediment of the coffee in my cups of coffee, which I do not like. This is wonderful for me until new flavors come out.. Thanks for posting.
Robert Frazier: Awesome, I've been out all week and just spent a hundred bucks on a new order...this will work during transition. Thank you for sharing!!!
Crystal Taunton: i just tried it and it worked great! Thank you!!
