Did this video help you?

Michael Etzwiler: super helpful and VERY clear  Thanks

gayle wagner: Great explanation and video for the basic steps. Foxtrot is my favorite ballroom dance.

SweetTea742: Thanks it's very simple to follow! Do you have any Basic Latin Cha Cha Videos?

Jeff Johnson: I remember Carroll O'Conner singing and dancing to this song many years ago.

Pelle Svanslös: IS there any good video like this for walts?

Jessica Fernandes: @aanw97 thanks :)

Andy Wong: @Jeka036 The name of the song is called 'One' from the show A Chorus Line. Andy Wong, The Grand Ballroom

Jessica Fernandes: what's the name of the song in the end when they dance!?

FIFISQN: What is the song? 3:00 Who Knows?

Andy Wong: @DanniSalsero Thanks for watching. Foxtrot music is 4/4 timing which means there are 4 beats to 1 bar of music. A 'slow' is 2 beats and a 'quick' is 1 beat. Social foxtrot is actually a 4 step dance. Therefore the basic step counted as SSQQ is equal to 6 beats or 1 & 1/2 bars of music. This means dancing a forward basic and then a back basic will take 3 bars of music in total. Andy Wong, The Grand Ballroom

Daniel.G.: Thank you for the clear demonstration and explanation, it was very helpful.

Frank Kwok: Nice and clear instruction.

Andy Wong: The name of the song is 'One' from the Broadway show 'Chorus Line'.

emmanuelle marinas: whats the title of the song you use on this video?....

Andy Wong: Thanks for watching. A 'slow' is 2 beats and a 'quick' is 1 beat. Social foxtrot is actually a 4 step dance, not 3 steps. Therefore SSQQ is equal to 6 beats or 1 & 1/2 bars of music. This means dancing a forward basic and then a back basic will take 3 bars of music in total. Andy Wong, The Grand Ballroom

PHJimY: It seems odd to me that SSQQ,SSQQ is counted 123+,123+, while the music is counted 1234,1234. It's a three dance step over a four music. Does this seem odd to anyone else?

daveheel: we were taught the SQQS rhythm instead of SSQQ in our dance class.

Dzintarmeitene: Thankyou! Its a great video explanation *^^*

mathewedison: This is soooo similar to the quickstep... The only different is the quick and slow really if I'm not mistaking.

MissEmy07: great!!! I just started dance lessons and this was fantastic! :)
