Tino Morfin: I love my 2006 Suzuki Burgman 650. Looking forward for the 2020 or so while I use the current 2006. I commute 140 miles a day and it is so comfortable.

Owned a 200, owned a 400.
The older generation of the 400, well worth the price.
Too many things can go wrong In the 650. They should've simply made it cvt. Would have made the bike lighter and would be far more accessible to engine mods if so desired. To fix these suckers, an expensive nightmare. Once issues with the motor start, it seems never ending.
Obviously ,the bike was meant to be thrown away or sold for parts at around 45,000 miles.
Sorry to say... But, truth is truth.

A_Sensible_Young_Man: Another thing - I like the idea of being able to store my helmet under the seat. Motorbikes are a pain in the arse for this. You go somewhere and have to lug your helmet about with you all day. Would an armoured jacket fit under the seat too? Probably not. The chain would though.

A_Sensible_Young_Man: The 'us & them' attitude of bikers regarding scooters is ridiculous. I think ot stems from the fact that a lot of 125 scooters are ridden by people with no interest in bikes - middle-aged women, students etc. Scooters also have a bad rap due to teenagers acting like monkeys on them (always a 50cc or a 125). The old 'mods and rockers' thing may be embedded in the rift. But these maxi scooters are different. You have to have a motorbike licence to ride them so every maxi scooter you see on the road is being ridden by a biker. To me they are bikes. An automatic Ferrari is still considered a real car so why are maxi scooters not considered real bikes? I'll admit that I've been guilty of wanting to be seen on a sexy, snarling sportsbike but the truth is, no one really cares. I work in a workforce that is 95% female and believe me, they don't look twice at powerful bikes. They couldn't care less. I'm coming round to the attitude that I should ride the best vehicle for me, not the best bike to boost my fragile ego. Having said this, I think my next bike is going to be the KTM 390 Duke. It seems perfect for my needs (90% town riding). I haven't ruled out a scooter yet though.

Sandy Toes Detecting: I had one 10 years ago, great bike and guess I miss it a bit now. So easy to ride. The suspension travel at front is very short. I did fit an upgraded piston inside the front forks which helped on sudden bumps to damp it down a lot. Also though the seat was wide the padding was very thin and could have done with an extra inch inside. I changed it for a 1500 goldwing in the end.

Gary T: By just toggling buttons on the handlebars, you can choose three distinct transmission modes: two fully automatic modes (Drive and Power) and Manual. Drive mode heightens efficiency at normal road speeds and gives smooth, linear, almost shock-free power delivery for easy riding. Power mode gives more punch when you twist the throttle. And Manual mode lets you thumb-toggle between five preset gear ratios for a unique feeling of control. (From Suzuki website)

Tax2Me: The second you said (sorry if not but my understanding of British is not that good) it reminds you of the bmw RT I was inmediatez sold into this. Next 2 st of wheels most definitively

Roger Smith: First let's put aside the scooter v bike stuff. Enjoy your 2 wheels no matter what the body/transmission set up. At one point I owned a Piaggio MP3 400 (the ones with two wheels up front) and it was a heap of fun to ride as well. The scooter is at home in the city, doing the daily commute and lane splitting if that is legal where you live. It can hold its own on the open road keeping up with bigger sports bikes and cruisers. In Australia where I live the national speed limit in most areas (except NT) is 110km/h. This scooter will do this all day if that's what you want. The CVT is responsive and to my mind is best used in auto mode although I know there are some who like pushing buttons and will like the manual mode. The power button gives an extra boost in auto mode for overtaking. The screen is electrically adjustable while riding and gives plenty of wind protection especially at high speed meaning less pressure on the arms and chest. There is plenty of storage in the dash with 2 latched glove boxes and a lockable one which includes a 12 volt cigarette lighter type socket. ABS brakes work well, use both levers. There is a parking brake as well with a light on the dash to warn that the brake is on. Under the seat will accommodate 2 full face helmets. If your budget will stretch to it remove the pillion backrest and replace it with a top box - the passenger still has back support, you have extra luggage and depending on the box you get it can be removed from its mounting plate to use for shopping or to carry the picnic for a day out. I also own a Kawasaki Voyager 1700, riding it is a different experience; for a start at nearly 400kgs it is much heavier. Take a test ride on the Burgman, get out on the open road or zip around the city. Just go and have fun on it.

bcs2em: I ride a pearl white 2012 Burgman 650 Executive. I love it. I've ridden it all over the western US and it is definitely a touring capable machine. I've even heard some here refer to it as the "Baby Goldwing". Personally I like the looks. My model is the last year of the older body style and I think it looks better (minus the mirrors which look better on the newer model). It does higher speeds with ease, although the fuel economy goes down a little at speeds over 60 mph.
One more thing: I've always wanted to ride a bike in the UK. Thanks for giving us in other countries the chance to ride vicariously on a variety of UK roads & even a motorway there. I really enjoyed the "experience".

Sbextra Art: I am looking at a Suzuki Burgman 400 as a first bike. It seems the most comfortable option for me. I am planning at some point in the future to use it to do small and maybe longer tours and carry a passenger. It seems that your videos, as informative and beautifully presented as they are, don’t approach the subject of riding 2 up ( except for the one with your daughter that looked at one particular bike). It would be great to have your views if you have any experiences in this area. Thanks
