uchihadelmar: i didnt everything as u said but the network to Internet connection isnt
Dan M.: Adding again that after another night of trouble getting this to work
(worked first time I tried, then bugged out on me, apparently either I
mis-typed the "xbox 5" port rule, or it changed by itself, I don't know for
sure but I fixed it) I spent another night looking online for
troubleshooting help. I managed to get this working again by double
checking ALL the adapter settings that we modify here, then restarting my
phone and PDAnet, EXIT PDAnet on your PC / Laptop and restart your
computer, turn off your Xbox, and restart PDAnet once your PC boots back up.
The whole rebooting of all my devices seemed to be the trick that got it
working again. I also re-set the MTU rating back to 1700 once my computer
I ran my xbox and poof, went straight to xbox live.
Once again, shut down PDAnet on your *PC* and reboot everything, phone,
computer, xbox etc once you have made double sure all the adapter settings
are as followed in the video.
Lastly, and I just tried this myself, follow all the above steps, then
UNSHARE your PDAnet connection adapter from the Ethernet adapter, re-share
it and check that all IP settings are correct for both adapters.
This last step just solved yet another case of "it works but now it don't"
for me. It's kind of a pain in the ass and jumping through hoops to get
this to work, but it's an option for those of us who refuse to pay for a
dedicated cable internet connection.
Hope this helps for you guys. I was absolutely freaking determined to get
this working, so don't give up either!
Dan M.: I just wanted to add that I got this working using Windows 8.1, following
the instructions as given. The ONLY change I made, and this is probably
irrelevant, is that I changed the MTU rating to 1700, after trying for 30
mins using 1500. My Xbox system is updating now. I changed nothing else
from the video. Restarted PC once to check if any settings needed to be
redone but everything saved. Restarted Xbox a few times, and after I
changed MTU to 1700, and the Xbox immediately began downloading the updates.
Thanks for the tutorial!

monoromerovl: I have a windows 7 64bit and the only part I got stuck was when I did the 5
xbox things. After that I checked both boxes and then it show this message
saying "internet connection sharing is enable, your LAN adapter will be set
to use ip address ex 123.434.124.5. Your computer may lose connectivity
with other computers on your network. If these other computers have static
IP addresses, you should set them to obtain their IP addresses
automatically. Are you sure you want to enable internet connection sharing?
Yes or no"
Then I clicked yes and saved the settings, I also checked the local tab
then I closed out of that. But when I went back to pdanet broadband
properties then I clicked sharing the tab instead of showing local it
showed wireless connection. The I went to my xbox and I can't get pass the
network. Please someone help me

under network connections instead of it being pdanet modem it was Pdanet
broadband connection i never got a pdanet modem option. and when i
completed the steps on the broadband connection it wouldn't even get past
internet on the xbox live test. I have ran out of options so any trouble
shooting ideas would be much apreaciated.
Kyle Rogers: hey huskamara i dont have a windws 7 laptop i have a windows 8 and also a
windows vista i did the steps that you did on your laptop but i cant

set your computer not to turn off obviously or you'll lose the
connection... Also the connection only seems to work when I connect my

initializes fine, and says Connected! but then pops up with that. If it
doesn't the xbox live won't connect.
