J Chapman: Hi cityside75. I got your comment by email but it wouldn't appear on the
comments below to reply to. So I'll reply here in CAPITAL.
Hi, it looks like your outer screen (digitizer?) wasn't broken, just the
lcd? CORRECT That's the situation with my tablet. If so, can you tell me,
did you order just the lcd and not the digitizer? YES, JUST THE LCD Did
your screen come with the tools shown in the video? NO TOOLS. JUST THE LCD
It's not clear from laptopscreen. com if those tools are included with the
lcd only, or are only included when the digitizer is purchased too. If you
can let me know, I'd appreciate it!
Nicole Mason: HOW ABOUT AN A1-810 I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO REPLACE IT ASAP
J Chapman: I don't know if its works for a A501 model. I've only done it on the A500
J Chapman: Hi Theryougo1. No no extra parts
Octavio Calderon: reassembling must be a mofo
niceysexygirl: Hi my tablet has a scrambled screen and I was wondering if its the screen
or something else but I don't wanna buy the part until I know for sure. are
you able to help?? ps great video
leedenuk: Is the b1 the same to replace?
bernie gasper: my tablet screen cracked...but im scred to do this...so complicated...must
study this carefully..
Justin Martin: Great how-to!
J Chapman: Mate if I can do it you can do it
Heather Adams: Great video. I had to replace the glass (not the LCD) and used your video
to get me started. I'm glad it was out there.
J Chapman: Thanks. Yeah it took me more like 2 hours. Took along to edit to.
Silfverr: Sat on my Acer Iconia A100 today..internal LCD screen broke. Seeing your
video there is NO way I could fix this myself so my beloved tablet is now
an expensive paper weight. :(
J Chapman: I replaced the LCD
Jordan Genge: can you point out to me wich part is the bit that recieves the sensitivity
from your finger so it tells the screen what to do, my screen is
unresponsive completly, im trying to see if the sensitivy cable has fellout
or what ever it is. i have the back plate taken of you just need to point
me in the direction, thanks :D
J Chapman: good question. I pretty much followed another youtube video. Do a search
for the following: " Acer Iconia Tab A500 - как разобрать планшет и из чего
состоит " It took about 1 1/2 hours to slowly follow the steps. It took
about 3 times that to do the editing of the video.
Joe Elmore: It's not a laptop screen.
MrFLbreakz: are these tablets even worth putting a new screen on? someone gave me one
with a broken screen, but im not a fan of accer nor have i ever used one of
TheReynoldsJay: Just replaced my a500's digitizer and LCD using this video. Took me about
an hour. Thanks for sharing!
J Chapman: good to hear
KATOOCHAT BLACK: Good evening on which site I may find a screen to acer iconia tab a510 not
ready for delivery in the dom please
djsmileyoflasvegas: dam thats alot i replaced an apple ipod 4 screen and digitizer and it was
way more simpler..my sister cracker the screen of the acer a200 i sold her
they said they can replace it for her for 90 bucks...i seen everywhere its
45 to 55 for screen and digitizer so shes just gonna pay the 90..cuz they
fix for 40 if she found glass cheaper.
john webb: Thanks for taking the time to make this video! I was able to replace my
screen and it is good as new!
Chester Wardan: It's interesting to watch you do the screen replacement on this tablet. I
work the same way with the tweezers, very organized, very precise. I'm
gonna be replacing the screen on a Iconia A100 tablet here in a few weeks.
Maybe I'll make a video as well.
strngrthnplpfctn: That looked so easy. Although I'm concerned about having to recall where
all those screws and tape went, I still feel more confident about repairing
my A100 which this happened to. It feels reassuring to know that the inner
workings of our electronics are taped in place. ;]
Sonny Acosta: question. i just bought a A200 for $75 on eBay great condition dude only
bought it 3 months ago, but the is one crack in the glass. the LCD is
intact with the exception of the crack in the glass. would this procedure
work the same. I found the replacement LCD on that website but don't know
if the LCD and digitizer are one or are separate?
John Erick Ogama: anyone know where i can buy spare lcd for acer iconia tablet? ?
J Chapman: no worries
nalim ikslawok: fantastic for the layman, 9 minutes .... I ... half day
alexandro salvatore: hi 1290scoobie i have the acer iconia A100 its actually the same thing that
happen to yours.. the glass is not broken just the ink got everywhere..
whre can i find the parts to replaced it. or do u you have a webside thanks
Gregory Gee: Did you replace the LCD, digitizer or both in this video? Trying to figure
out what to order.
Natecity1: it must be really hard working with those little rectangle city things
J Chapman: try LaptopScreen or ebay
J Chapman: Hi Chacho I haven't replaced the power button before. however I did a quick
google and found the following comment on a acer site: "this is a common
problem with the a500. The power button is not supported well on the
motherboard and if you press too hard it will break loose from the
motherboard! I am a computer tech and have tried fixing this problem, but
with no success!" You could maybe replace the Main Board. try the website
impactcomputers or send it away to acer to get fixed. good luck
J Chapman: the two are separate so the digitizer should be fine
eeebalaji: I ran over my a500 in car, and the whole screen is all white, no crack in
glass at all whatsoever. i connected to tv and checked with multitouch app,
touch screen is working neat through the length and width of screen. so, if
i just buy a screen for $60 and follow what you did will fix my problem?
thank you for helping, i am confused how the touch screen and lcd
arrangement. so would like to make sure before i buy.
A: Does this also work for the A501 MODEL?
Kseniya K. Art: does this procedure work just as well for the iconia a200? i recently broke
my screen... would i just get a replacement screen for that then? or the
J Chapman: the digitizer is the front screen and the lcd is the layer behind the front
J Chapman: I only replaced the LCD. The LCD & the front glass are separate. Although
they are stuck together with double sided tape.
Gregory Gee: How can I tell if it is the LCD or digitizer? The tablet got a sharp blow
to the screen from the van seats folding down. Screen looks the same as
your video. BTW, great video.
esmeraldagonzalez929: !how did you do it
Girl on the Gun Range: What exactly is the difference between the digitizer and the screen? I
recently broke the glass screen on my A100 but the picture and everything
works fine. I can even use the touch screen, its just a visibility issue
with the spider webbing. I looked on laptop screen.com found the screen and
am wondering if thats all I have to replace
rick artsi: I have a Acer iconia tab a501 and it no longer Works. I can turn it on and
the Acer logo shows up and then the Android logo but then it stays like
that i cant do anything else. Resetting it doesnt change a thing. Do you
know what it could be?
Theryougo1: Did u have extra parts when u put it back together?
Jay Williams: I had to replace the glass and used the video as a guide, everything went
well expect on reassembly I noticed the I broke a cople of the ribbon cable
connections on the board.. any ideas how to fix them?
J Chapman: No sorry. I've only done the one video
EL GORDO CHULO 174: YO... YOU'RE THE MAN... GREAT JOB!
tom john: did you replace the lcd screen and digitizer?
J Chapman: at the time they were more than adequate.
