Mick Taylor: So after cutting the Ad Blue bottle to make a funnel is there any way to
make sure I do not fill the tank and end up having to unscreww the funnel
when it may be full of fluid. That VCDS is about a hundered bucks so I
would rather just try to figure a way to not end up trying to unscrew a
Nicole Green: Is there a brand specific to car brands or does adblue work for any diesel
that needs it?
Carl Favorito: JUST took delivery of my new Passat TDI 2014. What does the warning light
look like when the diesel exhaust fluid is running low?
tiptop0: Knew it was only a matter of time before pigs piss made it into cars.
Reduced emissions by pumping urine into your exhaust
Mr. TruckDriver: okay now, AdBlue i do know exist for trucks with euro5 and euro6 engines,
but i never heard of AdBlue in regular/personal cars
superkunk2: who ever thought of this, (def) didn't live in northern states. My wife was
stuck in -5 temperatures, I had to go get her this fluid was frozen solid
in the tank.. I could get my truck to move only 5 mph. I called the dealer
he said let it idle longer so the heating element could melt it better. 1
hour and 45 minutes I was able to get her. They need to do something about
this cause the manual says no prolong idling. Now what?
By the way, its going down to -20 without wind chill tonight. check weather
for Chicago on this date 1/28/14
Jack Jones: I have a VW Sharan 2.0TDI which I've had for 2.5 years and it requires
Adblue. It's a pain in the butt - needs to go back to the dealer every
15,000 miles or so for topping up. "Not a customer refillable item" they
say. I now have a Nox sensor fault which says I don't have enough Adblue
even though I do. The dealer says my car could turn the engine off at any
point and refuse to restart, and I should no longer drive it on a public
Next car I get will NOT have Adblue if I can help it. Pain in the ass.
ruperthead: I have never heard of this fluid? I like in UK. Confused!
Melanie Sauer: Wow, thanks for responding. I really appreciate it.
Wheelin98: thanks this was very helpfull!
myturbodieseldotcom: Either the tank wasn't full or they didn't adapt the tank or fix the system
ShotGunVinny1: Wow that ad-blue last along time on a 2L TDI, i know big wagons have to
fill every few days.
Nguyễn Thành: I have ad : Bác nào ở Việt Nam cần mua dung dịch alo cho em Thành
01fastrace: I am sure that the system can easily be defeated and simply reactivated
when it is inspection time. Not a deal killer for me.
Kempton Page: To the best of my knowledge, the European diesels do not have the Adblue
system. It is installed in American cars to meet US emissions specs....I
believe that this is true for Mercedes diesels as well...
Melanie Sauer: My Passat TDI was rear end one month after I bought it brand new. The
entire right rear side was smashed in and the body shop had to take it to
the dealer several times to get the exhaust working correctly. It has been
6 months since this repair was completed and I have 5500 miles on the car.
I just saw an adblue notice on the panel this even. Is it a coincidence
that this came on or could it be related to the accident or is it normal to
have that light come on before the first oil change?
gaae2000: So should be added at 9000 just to be on the safe side?
peacockealot: If this makes it in the uk I will get rid of my diesel!
