panzer waffen: i hope the process is the same in my 97 corvette
Shank Montgomery: do you know if this process applies to later impalas?
superhawk1k: Have 2004 Chevy Impala w/3400 Engine and tried blower motor R/R as well as the control unit. Pulled the blower motor out, replaced - no luck. Replaced the blower motor resistor - again no luck (no blower motor action) Any ideas? Can hear A/C compressor kick on when the A/C switch is pressed. Could it be wrong switch for A/C heat? Talked to dealer, they show a 5 position switch for this particular vehicle yet several others (junkyards and several local parts dealers) say it is the rotary dial w/9 on and 1 off position.
Quinton Roosevelt: I have a question.. I got a 04 impala my a/c and heat only works when i put my feet on the gas I'm trying to see whats the problem?
RUReady ToGo: Thanks for the video. I have a "03 Impala LS. About 1 yr ago the #1 setting for the fan stopped working. Then 6 mos ago, the light for the heating/ac section would go out for periods of time & come back on. Today I smelled a burning pretty strong even when turned off, no lights, & no blowing when turned on. But on #5 setting it made an awful racket that shook the entire dash! I'm afraid to even drive it for now. Any suggestions?
santos vargas: hi i have a 2006 impala the problem is that if the car is on idle it blows cold air ..if its been reved it blows hot air.. i took out thermostat to see if that works but still have the same issues any suggestions
yowmemperor: I just replaced my resistor, blower worked great for a few days. Stopped this morning, it is on its third resistor, (first lasted 10 years, 2nd lasted 3 weeks, 3rd 1 day). Knowing the symptom immediately, I shut off the blower. I plan on replacing the blower motor this time. My question is; do you think the resistor could already be fried with only 10 seconds max of "on" time at 2 degrees F? Or is it a fair bet that its still ok, and it's just the motor? Fuse is ok. Could there be anything else causing this?
Nereida Perkins: Seems pretty easy my heater all of a sudden doesn't work an all I gotta do is replaced the old fan with a new one? Thanks for the video =)
1A Auto Parts: @Jon Barker It may be some type of a vent hose to help vent the blower motor.
BoneCollector: I've had an issue on my 2003 Impala 3.4L where the past few years, the climate control settings wouldn't always work (sliding to heat to cool) and I'd have to slide it back and forth to get it to blast the desired hot/cold air. Fast foward, this past year, the fan settings dial would only work on 1,2,3, and 5 (not 4) and it would randomly turn off (when on) and sometimes turn back on (when already on).
Now this past week, everything turned off and won't go on. The back window defroster button works, that's about it. No air blowing at all. I checked fuses, they are okay. I had a private mechanic change the fan blower and the resistor parts. He tested the old fan blower by making contacts to the battery and it wouldn't work, which he suspected the fan was burnt out or shorted. I ordered a new fan blower and resistor at Napa auto store for about $135 and he installed those, and it still wouldn't work.
Now he's saying that it is the climate control panel (where you change the AC/Heat settings with the dials) that is shorted out. Is this possible? Just want to make sure he's following the right course of action. I looked on Ebay and the center climate console is about $40-50 with shipping.
Is this accurate as far as what the FINAL problem is that I'm dealing with? It's especially hard not having heat in a vehicle during winter because the windows fog/frost up all the time. Thanks!
Jamie Scheel: Will this be the same for a 2004 Impala? Having an issue that you have to hit the bottom of the glove compartment to get the blower fan to turn on
1A Auto Parts: We offer free shipping in the lower 48 states. If you would like to start with the resistor to see if that fixes the issue, you could to that. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
Dompee: I have a 2001 chevy impala...my AC only blows on the speed setting 5, it started by only blowing on setting number 2 and up then as a few weeks went by and it would only blow on 3 and up and so on...I believe the resistor is for controlling the speeds and the motor is working, on speed 5 anyway...I would like to order the part from your site I just need to know if I should order the resistor and the motor? or just the resistor? ...please advise, thank you
1A Auto Parts: It sounds like you could have a bad connection to the blower motor. You may want to take a look at it. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
carlos coy: Thank you
1A Auto Parts: You may want to check for a possible vacuum leak somewhere which might be causing this situation. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
carlos coy: I have a 2001 3.4 impala, the problem with it is that it only throws air into the feet area, not trough the other vents even though i move the switch. Any tips? Thank you
1A Auto Parts: Does it have the plastic factory coolant elbows that run through the belt tensioner, and is that where it's leaking from?
jonathan R: I have a question I have impala as 3.8L it has a engine coolant leak can you make video how to fix it or.estimate of how much it cost
1A Auto Parts: There is only one blower in the vehicle and it is located under the dash board inside the vehicle as shown in the video.
