Ashley Clarke: This technique is just the same as using the options already in your
Androids main settings menu (if it is there), except you are bypassing the
menu interface by using the adb Shell; Applications still leave alot of
data on the internal memory; there are several, more effective ways of
moving apps to sd.
Always back up your important data before experimenting.
Keep a ROM image handy too!

Mikhail Nikitin: The procedure can be fulfilled on Xperia Ray, except for a few minor
changes since 2012:
1) The SDK archive now is 400+ MB, but contains everything (no need for
additional installations). Extract directory "sdk" from the downloaded
2) Location of "adb" is changed to "platform-tools".
3) The last command is changed from "pm setInstallLocation" to "pm
4) To exit nicely from ADB, type "exit".
But even after these steps, I can't move some applications (e.g. Dropbox)
to SD card.

will still get the insufficient storage message! Don't waste your time and
energy guys on this one! i recommend root your phones if you don't want
then it won't work.. just a waste of time

SidSMS Backup: SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP URGENTLY!
I have three queries:-I have a HTC Explorer 310e
1. When I click photos and videos, I presume by default they get saved on
the SD Card. However, is it possible that even after removing the SD Card,
the photos and videos might get transferred to the Internal Memory somehow.
In short, does the removal of SD Card from the mobile ensure no recovery of
2. Even when the SD Card has been removed, the messages (including MMS)
continue to be shown on the device. Does this mean that the messages reside
on the internal memory and not the SD Card? If this is true, then is there
a way to transfer (move) the messages (including mms) to the SD Card from
the internal memory?
3. The HTC Explorer (like many other HTC devices) has an inbuilt SMS Backup
and Restore option (no third party app required). When I backup the
messages, the backup creates a file in the folder sms_backup. I dont
understand what is the file of this backup file. Also, what I dont
understand is that if I copy this backup file onto the SD Card of any other
HTC Explorer and then try to restore, would it actually mean that the
messages on the first HTC Explorer would get copied onto the second HTC

Fabio Beccali: You come here in the first place to find help to solve your technical
problems, and then, you English Language masters, have to leave "funny"
comments regarding accent/grammar matters, like this is a contest. I would
like to hear you speaking foreign languages when in other countries where
they do not give a dime about pure and perfect English language....but
probably you just speak one language, which unarguably, is not an
advantage, just for you to know it.
