Alex Bear: Anyone knows what would be the largest trolling motor that would fit thru the well? I have a 2015 Hobie PA 14 and would like to install a trolling motor using the plug. I found a 46lbs for $110 and a 55lbs for $145. I would rather buy the 55lbs but I'm afraid it wont fit thru the well. Anyone who has done this and was successful?
whompSTEP: Hey, I have the same kayak and same motor. Mine has the transom mount on the shaft. Do you have any info or pics on how you took the motor apart and removed that transom mount??? Thanks!
ture turi: Best of The Best
Stheven Cabral: I've seen some videos on youtube where they replace the nubs on the left and right side of the cassette with a half inch metal rod. I noticed you left yours. Have the nubs on your cassette broken off since? Thanks
Larry Douglas: Does the pin shaft run all the way through the mirage cassette insert, the reason i ask is because of the bore? What size whole bore and what size minn kota trolling motor?
Axgoodofdunemaul: Thanks for all the info. I'm thinking about buying the $2K Torqeedo motor, but you have a less expensive solution.
MrAfilao: cut the head and put the controls in a small box in the cup holder,
RUDYAKAHALIBU77: Great job on the Electric !!!
laker92883: can you please post how did you convert it to fit the kayak? Thanks.
twinny5032: Did u have to change the riptide 40 blade for it to fit in the mirage? My friend has the riptide 40 motor and he said he cant put the riptide motor in his outback mirage hole like in your video.
It is the riptide but you can use the freshwater motor too you just want to give it a good wash down when you're finished.
Its a 12 volt Die Hard behind the seat
The block it the plastic one from hobie I just drilled through it and ran the shaft of the trolling motor through it. You can buy them through Hobie.
