Charles Mulligan: The valve seems to have a twist lock feature. It would have been great if you had actually removed the vent valve while you had the cannister down. Nobody knows how far to turn the valve before prying it out.
Leslie Cole: hey how do i find out where it is on a 2011 equinox.. the video was very helpful thanks..
George Perez: Thank you guy you save me $40.00 👍😊
JR SIMP (FATMANYOU2): I have been struggling with pulling that part out! I don't want to break, but brother It's not nudging at all. I don't want to break it. Any suggestions my friend?
JR SIMP (FATMANYOU2): Now I have an 08 and i turned it but it did not pop out. Should I pull it once it turns? Also, I bought this part at Oreily but it looks slimmer and connector does not match. I guess dealership it is.
swymer75: could be the bearings.
Steve A: P0446 is for a clogged vent system. It can be set by a stuck closed vent solenoid, but more likely is a plugged charcoal canister.
unrestrictedimports: @Basement31 you are going to have to replace the charcoal canister, when the vent valve fails the canister will fill with fuel clogging up the canister, i hot mine off ebay for 60 bucks, dealer wanted 120
Basement31: hi ss396rat,
i finally did it, thanx for posting this vid. i replaced the vent solenoid and fuel cap but the check engine light came back on - P0446 code showed up again. any suggestions will be apreciated..thank you!
ss396rat: @Basement31 never had that problem, some tires are noisy
Basement31: I have a humming noise on my front passenger side tire..I changed brakes and rotors already but noise is still there..just wondering if you experienced it on ur equinox? It rides fine tho except for that noise.
ss396rat: @Basement31 u can do it that way or use a scanner
Basement31: How did you reset your check engine light? Did you just disconnect and connect the negative battery wire?
ss396rat: @Basement31 make sure u get a gas cap from the dealer, aftermarket does not seal properly
Basement31: And pep boys showed me the p0446 code....I hope this is the answer to my check engine light. Thanx for posting this vid.
Basement31: I have an 05 equinox..check engine light came on, as per the manual "check gas cap, if it doesn't tighten-replace it" which I did. I reset the check engine light and it came back on after about a week. Went to pepboys
ss396rat: @GardenOFire thnx
GardenOFire: At least this is a fixable problem on the chevy's, most of the new chryslers do it bad, explained to me by the dealer.....idle your car for 60-120 seconds before shutting it off to fill it up or the gas pump continuously clicks, i think its more of a design flaw than anything but god forbid a car maker ever admit to that ya know, keep up the good work man Peace!
