ral islegend: can anyone advise me. I have daughters laptop, fixed it abouut ten times as she is clumsy and has two younger sisters. so i fixed the power input untill it was useless and the thing would not even power up any more. so i got out the hard drive, i remember it ran windows 8 and when i plug it in externally to another laptop it comes up GPT protective and shows no system file relation just blank. what i want to do is put it into my old laptop that the hard drive broke, this one ran windows 7. I was hoping there is a way to get the windows 8 gpt protected hard drive conditioned and get it to get my old laptop running. IS THERE A WAY weather it be simple or hard?? PLEASE HELP MEEE!

Leatheryed1: Pressing F2 does absolutely nothing: it just goes through it's usual start-up. The Hiren's boot CD spins up but the machine, (a Toshiba Satellite type C55-A5190), ignores the CD and goes right to the password screen. No ands, ifs or buts! That's all it does. No other function key does anything either. The machine is running Windows 8.1. How the heck is the Hiren's CD supposed to be accessed?
