Conrad Ellis: You Rock Brother!!!
I watched your video. I ended up replacing the alternator to my 2002 Chevy
Suburban. I saved a great amount of money doing it myself..
bigole bear: I am not much of a mechanic. I recently had to replace the alternator on my
2002 Chevy Silverado and your video made it very simple for me to do. Thank
you very much for your help.
Michael Minando: going to replace an alternator on my fathers 2005 chevy silverado 1500
today. This is my reference video ill let u know how it works out. Seems
TheStoverpunk: Thanks a ton! Very well done. Start to finish for me was about 45 mins but
I had to track down some tools! Thanks again!!!
bart arthur: nice video
i think my alternator is going bad
but with a good charged battery, my truck wont start
isnt that strange? shouldnt it start even with a bad alternator? do i
have a bad starter?
Dylan Janis: Great video, I have never done this before and you guys made it easy. I
check to you guys for everything I can please keep the videos coming!
Thanks a lot!
Mark Henry: Thank you brother - I haven't ever changed an alternator on a serpentine
belt, Now I can and you saved me a lot of cash and help get me back on the
road to get back to my jobsite ASAP - THANKS AGAIN!!!
Antonio Villagrana: I have an 03 Silverado, and my alternator is making a whining noise that
increases when I accelerate. Would it be a good idea to replace it? I'm
going on a 1500 mile trip next month and I need some advice.
PlanetPrima: thanks a lot. I found this very helpful. I'm glad there are people like you
helping people like me.
5312gdog: Thank you so much, wouldn't have been able to do it myself without the
elmuertero1651: You guys are awesome! Thanks for the guidance!!
1A Auto Parts: Thanks for watching. Have a great day! 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
Sucio16: Thanks for the Video! It helped very much. However, just a question, hope
you can help. After installing the new Alternator, my battery voltage
fluctuates from 14 to 12 Amps. Wondering if you have a clue as to what is
wrong. (Or, anyone who reads this, and knows, please reply.). Thanks!
1A Auto Parts: it is similar but they did a change over to the Vortex engine in 1999 so it
might different slightly between your model and the 1998 but the concept
will be the same.
Tricia Hunter: I am a 39 yr old mom of 3 boys & thanks to you I changed my own alternator
on my 2003 Chevy Tahoetwo weeks ago!! You guys made it so easy! I am not
one to read directions & be able to fix something. But since I had such a
good visual it was EASY! Now I need to figure out what is wrong w/ my
husband truck! It starts but then dies. It is not the alternator or the
battery. Wish I knew the problem so I could watch another one of your
videos to fix it!!
Kevin Carley: Is this the same as a 2002 Chevy Tahoe Z71??
Eduardo Sandoval: how do I know which code is for the alternator on my glove box sticker? i
dont have the kg8 code...i have a 1999 yukon slt 5.7L 4WD..
XxClemsonTigersXx: but why would that happen as soon as i swap my alternator? ive never had
that problem before...to attempt to fix that i unplugged my battery for 10
minutes and when i connected it my truck started then idled for like 1
second than died...did this 3 times then 4th it ran fine and have had no
trouble ever since
1A Auto Parts: @blackandgold51 This should be the same as your 99 Yukon.
hollowpt: Great video. I have two things to mention. 1. At approximately 5:34 in, you
will notice that a single bolt is inserted as a starting point. This is a
huge help. I battled mine for almost 3 hours by not noticing that tid bit.
2. For a diesel disconnect BOTH negative battery cables.
David Mason: You rock, took me about an hour. You explained it perfectly.
im4ncst8: Thank you!!! Saved the day for me.
kruff10: Hey man great video, i replaced my the alternator in my 2004 gmc yukon
thanks to this video, saved myself a lot of money.
1A Auto Parts: Thanks for checking us out. Have a great day! 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
Kayla Hackney: Can you tell me about how long the whole process takes? I got in my truck
this morning and it said "battery not charging". I gave it some gas to send
voltage and the message went away. Took it to have the battery tested and
it did the exact same thing. So the guy said that my alternator either has
a short somewhere or it is going out. Should I just replace the
alternator?? I have a 2003 Chevy Silverado. 4.8.
1A Auto Parts: It should be a similar process. You may be able to apply some of the basic
steps shown in this video to your application. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
Pete Garza: nice video, helped me out alot and was very easy and streamlined to the
SwiftSilentDeadly23: Great step by step video, I now can't imagine taking my truck in to have a
mechanic do this, as simple as this was. Thanks!
1A Auto Parts: Yes it should be the same.
Sucio16: @1aauto Thanks for your reply! I went over the problem, and it turned out
that the alternator I purchased was faulty. I returned it to the Autozone
(they tested it and stated that it passed)...but, I still requested a
replacement. They were helpful and gave me a replacement. I installed it,
and everything worked just right. Thank You.
1A Auto Parts: You should ba able to match up the year/make/model and motor size to the
alternator that you need.
Richard C: Does this apply to a 98 Tahoe?
Bobby Swan: awesome video is this same for a 1998 chevy Tahoe
TOXIXIFY: Thanks SO much! My first time changing an alternator was a breeze! (mostly
because it's 20 F outside) I never had to take the engine cover off on my
AlabamaJack1: thank you very much...exactly the engine and configuration I was working
Chevy Cap: TY so much Very good instructions....AAAAAA ++++++++ THANKS AGAIN....
Dave Simcox: THANKS!! I knew there had to be a tensioner somewhere but couldn't see
where it was. You saved me a couple hours of swearing, and made my day
1A Auto Parts: @sidneyincanada No Problem, Glad to help! Please visit 1A Auto dot com next
time you need parts for your Chevy Silverado, Tahoe, GMC Sierra, Yukon, or
any other car or truck.
rcfreak35: Thanks for your response, to illustrate, the sound it makes when i try to
turn it on is like when the metal fan blade of a lawn mower hits some kind
of huge rock that wont budge and the metal blade scrapes/clanks on the
rock. that's the terrible sound it makes only louder and the darn thing
wont start! Thanks.
1A Auto Parts: You could have someone try to start the truck while you listen to hear
where the sound may be comeing from.
XxClemsonTigersXx: awesome video guys!! thanks!! one question though? My battery light has
been on ever since i swapped my alternator but its charging fine and the
volts are good, what gives?
1A Auto Parts: If it's the same vehicle it should be in the same spot.
arcangel3579: Wow...This video was a life saver.... It took me less than 1hr.. including
getting the part. Thank I will be subscribing from here on out. Thanks...
rcfreak35: Hi, I just wanted to ask you, my 96 chevy suburban won't start at all. I
checked the battery cleaned the MAF sensor (unless it needs a new one!) and
replaced the starter and when I try to start it it makes a horrible sound
like some kind of loud rusty metal sound effect! that's how I can best
describe it. I believe it has the original alternator (I think!) please
help! Thank you.
Eric Espi: you are a beast my friend Thanks for helping us all out. I will be
replacing my Alternator very soon with pure confidants. Thanks.
1A Auto Parts: It will be similar on the 2005 but not exactly the same for that year.
1A Auto Parts: @Sucio16 If your using the heat, or the AC and it dips. This does tend to
happen on many vehicles because there is a great amount of draw on the
system. If your just at an idle with nothing on such as the headlights,
heat or AC and it tends to fluctuate then there may be an issue with the
bubbabouyi: Thank you , video was big help
Billy Bain: Very helpful. Thanks!
