Soleil Leah: Resistance bands actually do more to the body than a standard barbell.
When lifting a barbell with your elbow in, you can easily hold it up, but
with a resistance band fixed to the ground, when in that same position you
are doing work in your arm, legs, butt etc. The lever arm of the band is
much longer than the lever arm of a weight. More lever arm equals high
levels of torque, and the purpose of exercise is all about controlling and
creating torque! lol

resistance across different planes than cant be achieved with weights;
being that gravity only works downward.You'd tend to see the benefits of
bands more so when your focus shifts toward dynamic athletic performance in
a 360 degree field of battle across every plane of motion.For oiling up in
front of the mirror in ur g-string to get a pump in your rhomboids, its
true-- conventional bodybuilding modalities are the way to go.

back into free weights.

notable lean muscle very fast while reducing excess fat simultaneously.
Christian is one of the numerous men who had positive results because of

dentfit1: Muscle WILL respond differently. Compare 30 lbs of tension throughout a
movement vs 30 lbs only half to the end. MUscle is not as dumb as some die
hard band supporters claim. I'd suggest reading some muscle mechanics and
physiology. The statement " muscle doesn't know the difference " almost
always come from pelple who don't have much experiences with true weight
training. I'm not bashing band training. It will get you in a great shape
if you go at it hard and consistently but NOT FOR mass.

prippropro: Bands are great for muscle density and strength, but not that much for
getting bigger..I have a set of bands and i can tell you that they are much
challenging than weights, since they don't work with gravity the more you
stretch them the greater the force applied to your muscle. I do thai boxing
and i use them for improving my explosiveness in knees, kicks and punches
and they're awesome! But again if your looking for bulking up get a pair of

average physiques with water retention in the face. Of course, to the man

Still, they give sound advice, expecially about supplements.
Josh McNeely: Resistance training in my opinion is not that great at all. The bowflex is
a terrible machine to workout on. You have to work really slow to feel
anything on a bowflex. And not to mention it takes forever. Bands would be
good for the same concept as using chains for certain barbell excersises.
But I guess bands are better than nothing though.

bands are better for my bones and joints.
dentfit1: ONe more, Band suporters always talk about the lbs bodylastics ( or any
other bands ) put out as their max resistances. THEY ARE DIFFERENT from
lifting dead weight because the weight is not constant. Your muscle will
know that. When nuatilus machines came out, exercise physilogists knew that
muscles will respond differently. Why do band supporters keep saying '
muscle doesn't know the difference'? Just do a set of biceps curl with both
bands and weight and see if they feel the same..
Thetruenihilus: bands are great, depending on what your planning to do. If you want to get
a full body workout and get pretty toned, do Muay Thai kickboxing. Fastest
most efficient way I found. And just lift, with a high protein diet to get

snaps... Its gonna freak your crap up. I was using one with the door stop
and it pried the freaking door open and popped me in the back. That crap
left welts and hurt like freaking hell.
D Bechtel: except the tension isn't consistant.. the weight feel like less at the
top.. and is a ton in the middle. The band just works the opposite way.
Invest in good bands. that and make sure there is tension even on the
negative.but you can do whatever the freak you wanna do

resistance, your muscles dont know the difference between 100kg worth of
force from barbel weights, or from resistance bands. You tend to be able to
use better form with resistance bands, but to gain muscle you need a high
resistance set. Some of them can provide combined resistance well over
