my window was open and the sun coming through) a blueish colored bezel
under the tv screen? ive never noticed it before. but when the sun came
thorough it really lite up. DO some sanyo tv come with the ambient
lighting?? my model is dp42849
wrxya33: thanks worked perfect my tv works again
Lee S: We bought a Sanyo very similar to this model and had the same problem. I
looked for solutions online, but wasn't able to find anything. Finally
broke down and bought a new TV on black Friday weekend. I'm so glad I found
this video before I put the old set out for trash! We followed the
instructions and now the the picture on the old set is fine. Thank you!
Krystle Sepulvado: Thank you so much.
MrMegadean77: Hi there. Just want to say a massive thank you for your video. I have a
Samsung ue40d5520 led TV and I just squeezed the left and right bottom
sides of the tv and my horizontal line disappeared. It came back minutes
later but has gone for now. Km guessing it will come back swill look at
taking the tv set apart and do what u did there however if it does come
back then at least I know what the problem is. Thank u.
I will add for all those complaining about this video then go get a life as
why should we pay repair companies when it can be fixed at home by the
owner bcos these sets are obviously manufactured in this way so that the
problem will occur and they get more money as a television should last at
least 5-6 years and mine is only 3 years old and like many others here I
cannot afford a new TV.
Thanks bud ur a lifesaver
DeVante Riley: Were u from
Tampatec: Liked, how long will that last on average?
45shfifty: Have you run into one of these with a dark line across the middle and a
buzzing noise? I think it is a ccfl transformer for the back light but not
Quinton Smothers: This worked on my LG. Though, the process to take mine apart was very
different. Thanks for the vid.
Cody Bartram: This vid is a LIFESAVER
Thank you so much!
NITIN AGGARWAL: i had Samsung LED TV UA40D5000PR, it has screen problem.
when i switch it on sometimes its shows vertical lines starting from center
of the screen from top to bottom and then goes to whole screen.
but this problem is not always. then i power it off and make its power on
after 15-20 minutes it works fine.
so this problem is not always but comes and goes by power it on or off and
restart after 15-20 minutes.
kindly guide me what to do.
i had already unplugged the ribbon strip of t-con board and cleaned it and
again put it back, but the problem exist as it is.
awaiting your kind advice.
Kendall Birch: thanks you helped me save a tv sir thank you!
Regina Phillips: I did this and the tv works fine ...We will see how long it last, Thanks
for the info..
Stanley Forkner: I tried this with my 46" sanyo and it worked. Thank you very much. Mine had
a dozen of those strips though and I only put the rubber strips on the top
part but hasn't failed me yet!!!!
Andrew Schmidt: I have a 46 sanyo dp46849. Would this be a similar if not identical fix for
it as well? If so thank you alot ahead of time as we just don't have the
money right now to purchase a new tv.
Pooh Davis: Mine is a different model of 46" Sanyo, it was bought at Walmart 6 years
ago. It had horiz lines running across the entire top of the screen coming
down about 6-8". It has a few more more IC's across the top than yours, no
channels stamped into the metal frame either, just foam spacers put in at
the factory to press against the IC's (what does that tell you). All I did
was place some thin foam weather stripping on top of the ribbon cable right
on top of the IC's. It's been running perfect for a week. Thanks for the
heads up sir.
Melody Willock: Followed every step of the video, then as I was reattaching the plate
around the screen the bottom part cracked and splintered throughout the
Stephen Hamilton: I did this step by step and it worked. Until I but the metal bezel on and
the whole screen went out. Any Ideas?
Enrico Raymundo: What about if the display has a horizontal distorted lines waves, and the
pictures above duplicate on below? (The TV is LCD/LED DeVANT 46)
David Samuels: Thank You So VERY MUCH for this video!!!
I'm having this problem with my Samsung 52" across the whole screen after
about 10 minutes of watching it. I will be implementing this fix as yours
is "only" the second video I've seen with a diagnosis of this sort of
More word NEEDS to get out about the TAB problem because MANY repair
shops/services DON'T Know how easy this is to fix!
fixnfool 1: Thanks norcal715. I have this same exact model and it started doing this
some time ago. I have been watching it like this until it warmed up and it
would stop doing it after about a half hour. I saw your video and did what
you said to do now it works again as soon as I turn it on. Can't thank you
enough. YOU ROCK!!!
J.K. James: Worked
Solitario solito: is the same for horizontal lines ?
April Maldonado: Thanks so much im a do it your self type of women but girly to so
was.wondering if i can pull it out had my hubby and friends do the heavy
lifting and was very easy for me to fix were very grateful
Richie L: I have a 2009 46 Sanyo DP46849. Would this be a similar if not identical
fix for it as well? If so thank you alot ahead of time.I saw others say
they use card board will this work also or be a fire hazard?
Robert Whiteman: Worked for me, thanks!
Christopher Galis: I have a vizio 3dtv that the right hand side of the screen gives me a half
black screen while cold. after about 30 min it warms up and works fine,
does anybody know if this will work for my tv as well???
1Blastarr: Do you have any problems with heat with those IC's being under the rubber?
Bones Malone: I tried this fix and it worked when I put the ribbon back in. I now have a
blue screen? any ideas?
Stephen Low: You need to be careful about placing rubber between the metal frame and the
bond chip, It uses the dimple in the frame as a heat sink as well as a
press. Could you have tried heat on the that chip's pins to reflow it a
CeLoRican: Hello there I try this out and it worked for me but now I have a problem i
have no picture at all any suggestions ?
AnimalAnswers807: im gonna try this
1975vini: tv `s manufacturer use poor flex cable materials , poor quality ,and yes,
programmed to fail with overheating use . however strategy ??? ,. i `m sure
zoomanmc: Dynex 38" doing the same thing. We could press the left corner and it would
clear up. When it started it was 5 inches wide and effect the left side of
the screen. That was about 8 months ago. In the last week its been half the
screen like in the video.
Took it apart today and and added blue foam shims about 2mm thick. Took
about 1hr with some cleaning.
Seems to be working great.
Thank you Sir.....................
Aaron Silvestri: Thanks for the info man! Got a 46" working with your ideas :)
Ken Pappas: Great. What is the thickness of those shims?
2k Styles: bruhh
سناء قداب: iam freak you
laure atkinson: GREAT VIDEO
Miguel Ycaza: great video this fixed my tv Worked perfect.
sairsad: hello! I have the same problem but it is SAMSUNG LED type LE40A336. do you
think it works ?
Ballistic Tuna: Quick question. I have the same problem when I turn the tv on. After about
20 minutes of warmup it goes away. I will be trying your fix either way.
Great job on the video! Haters please go away. He is helping folks :)
Jeri Mckinney: i have an olvia 42in 242-T11 I HAVE THE SAME LINE PLUS FLASHING BUT THEY
ARE HORIZONTAL INSTEAD OF VERTICAL HELP PLEASE
Roe Carter: Ty so much I have a Hisense tv and this solution worked for me only I used
pizza box cardboard lol
Bobby Rutgers: It worked! I had to do it a little differently, putting pressure on the
cable didn't do anything, it seemed that putting pressure on the glass
where the cable goes into glass worked, so I shimmed it with a few layers
of a business card cut into small strips, held in place with a piece of
electrical tape also cut into a thin strip and sandwiched it in between the
glass and metal frame, hopefully it gives me a bit more life out of the tv.
RobotronZone: Those ribbons are glued on so after time the tv gets hot and the glue
loosens just a bit , which causes the problem
